Did you ever want to own a business, be part of advertisement development, or help to build a retail promotional campaign?

Overview

Students will learn:

  • How to promote products.
  • Sell merchandise.
  • Manage a business or department.
  • Gain a foundation for one of the most popular college majors.
  • Write and produce television commercials.
  • Handle major financial transactions.
  • Promote our business by utilizing print, TV, Internet, and radio mediums.
  • Inventory management operations.
  • Train and supervise subordinates.
Part of the Marketing and Business Education Program includes operating the school store where a variety of school items are sold. Enrollment in the Marketing and Business Education Program prepares you for real life experiences you can take with you when you move on to post-secondary education.

  • National Professional Certification in Customer Service

Career Outlook

The marketing field includes all activities that follow a product or service from conception to purchase by the consumer. Marketing is a vital part of all businesses; thus, opportunities will continue to be abundant in the field of marketing.

Community & Events

Marketing - DECA Competition Winners
West Side CTC Business Marketing students competed in the National Marketing Club, DECA. This year's competition was held virtually due to COVID-19. Evander Brown took 3rd place in Food & Service Management. Alexander Hartman took 2nd place in Business Finance for the third year in a row. Nahum Torres took 3rd place in Business Services Marketing. (Click Image for Full View)
